Reflection

Experience

Compared to Typography, Advanced Typography seems to have greater freedom. I now approach typography differently than I did before these two classes, when I wasn't very interested in it. Typography in general is something that I had to get used to since at first it felt so rigid. This semester, I had braced myself for even more regulations to adhere to, but Advanced Typography was really better and the work offered more autonomy. There were more assignments that included type design, which I found to be more fun than creating layouts or organising type. Overall, it was a very positive experience because I learned about and fell in love with a new field of design (type design), as well as the stuff i learned in this module, greatly helped me with other aspects of design from my other modules

Observation

I saw that I continued to take a long time creating layouts. In contrast to coming up with ideas for type design, it takes me longer. Particularly, the typographic systems took longer than I anticipated to accomplish. In addition, I discovered that for me, it needs perseverance to generate work and resolve to change things to how I want them to be. Although I preferred Advanced Typography over Typography, there were several times when I felt worn out and it required more courage to continue. I was able to complete the assignment because I like the nature of it.

Findings

First, I learned more about how branding or collateral work is created. When creating a typeface or logo for a brand identity, there are several factors to take into account, including as the message you want to convey, your aims, and the design's efficacy. The typographic systems lecture was the part which i hate most, i find it boring but essential to learning. They were difficult at first, but as I experimented with them, they became more enjoyable and helped me come up with new ideas. I also learned how difficult, mentally exhausting, and cruel kerning can be.
