REFLECTION
Throughout this module, i always have this biased mindset that design principles is my favorite module. This is because we were always given the freedom on how to create the artworks, what media it would be on, and the approach on how to create the artwork. Unlike the other modules, design principle never ask the artwork to be colored or b/w, never require a certain dimension of the artwork thus, giving complete freedom to create an artwork special and unique to us without restrictions. This module has taught me a lot of design basics that helped me excel in all the other modules, as in my opinion all the modules are working in conjunction with one another, strengthening our foundations of design. If i were asked what i enjoyed the most, initially it would be the first 2 exercises because my long term hobby has always been photography, and i incorporated photography for the first 2 exercise. After several hours spent on Adobe Illustrator to create all the other exercise/projects, i would say that the whole project experience throughout this module is quite balanced for me, i kinda like all the projects bombarded at us. Although the assignment that i liked the least is self portrait, this is because it is so hard for me to describe myself from my own shoe. The whole thinking and ideation process was a pain in the ass for me. But from this project, i learned a lot about myself, i learned more of my strength and weaknesses, i learned what i like and what i don't like and how to counter them, and finally, i learned to master the design principles subconsciously without having the need to force slapping in principles for my current and ongoing artworks. Being my first semester in TDS, this is my first time having to submit and compile everything in an e-portfolio, first time using blogger.com, first time having the need to be detailed in submission and writing essays upon essays of reflection like this. Due to this additional habit, i slowly learned to have better time management, better discipline when doing work, and also improvement in widening my creative mind. Lastly, if anyone were to ask what could be changed from this module, honestly i cant sense a flaw from any aspects of this module. I had fun!
